Day 31

Character:  Princess

Featured in:  The Princess Who Had No Name

Role:  Girl who has lost all of her memory

Age:  Teen

Favorite thing:  Home

Imagine waking up lost in a dense forest without a clue about where you are, where you’re from and even who you are. This is the case of Princess, who has no memory of anything prior to waking up in the Misty Forest. All she has is a baby quilt with a strange symbol she doesn’t understand.

This  play is a quest, no doubt, but it’s also very much a play about finding your identity. Not only does the girl learn she’s a princess along the way, but she also finds out who she is, which ends up being far more than a mere title or a name. She finds out what is most important to her. And along the way, she not only ends up in other fairy tale stories, but changes their outcomes, both directly and indirectly.
